Free clothes and supplies for foster, kinship and adoptive families.

Our Mission

We help foster and adoptive families in Stokes County, NC and beyond access clothing and essentials so children can feel confident, valued, and cared for. By giving kids the chance to shop and have clothes they love, we help them feel special, supported, and happy in their homes.

Our History

The Foster Closet began in 2017 when local foster families started sharing clothes between siblings to help meet everyday needs. As the need grew, the program moved to different locations around the county, including a period at Hope Pregnancy Center.

In 2020, Liz Inman took over leadership, and in 2021 began expanding its reach through social media. By 2024, The Foster Closet found a permanent home at The Rock Church in King.

With the support of our dedicated volunteers, The Foster Closet has grown significantly, serving over 334 children in 2025 and being used more than 700 times to support local families.

Our Team

The program is fully run by volunteers from Stokes County and surrounding areas, including both members of the foster care community and others who are passionate about the mission.
